For me traveling the ancient “Sadhu Trail” walked by many wise and holy men is something that will never be forgotten.

The stunning scenery as we journeyed through the foothills of the Himalayas and trekked into the mountain to the source of the Ganges can only be experienced not talked about.

Traveling with Walter, my husband, and a small group of like minded people each on their own individual journeys and with a great respect for other peoples’ beliefs and space was truly amazing.

We had an awesome Indian tour guide – Suresh – whose compassion and knowledge and spirituality will always be treasured – he will be a friend forever.

Our Driver and co-driver showed amazing skills on roads that made New Zealand’s Skippers gorge look like a two lane highway. Our superb cooks served banquets every night on silver platters whether in tents or otherwise.

Sometimes taken out of our comfort zones – facing new experiences and even learning to ride a mule on a cliff edge and having to surrender to my fear of horses and totally trust the mule and guides who had gone before was a life changing experience.

Our accommodation went from 2 man tents in the bush to absolute opulence and there was never a shortage of servants to carry our bags and serve us tea as a wake up call every morning.

Thank you Tony for inviting us to join you on this Lotus Journey.

My trip through India was a life-changing experience for me. The adventure, the places and the people will live in my memory always.

The humanness of India stretched me, and on reflection, has made me a far more compassionate person.
The highlights were my first ‘Arti’, fire ceremony at Rishikesh on the steps of the Ganga; the trek from Gangotri to Gamuk; the eco village of Balori , where we had the overwhelming greeting from the local villagers and the picturesque mountain lake of Nanital. However, it was the many  faces of India that moved me the most.

I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to fully experience the excitement and spiritualism of India.

Wow- is the word! Tony always said it is one of those trips that stays with you a long time and sometimes the effect is not fully felt for days, weeks, months and even years afterwards. I can fully understand that- at the time, it was such an assault on all the senses that all you could do was absorb everything, like a wet sponge.

Now I am back home, I am able to live it again through the photos-each photo is not just a tourist snap, each and every one has  a story to tell and like a piece in a jigsaw creates a complete picture of India in its magnificence.

The treks were physically and emotionally challenging at times, as you simultaneously experience the grandeur of the Himalayas, the captivating essence of the mighty and celestial River Ganga and the sacredness of the pilgrims journey.

I would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to explore India through the spiritual connectedness we have with nature -this area. Uttaranchal is breathtaking.
I thank Tony and Suresh for their guidance and experience and I had total faith in their ability to manage the intricacies of Indian travel Namaste.

India always had a pull on me; this led me into joining the Ganges trip this year. When I came across Lotus Magik Journeys it felt like this was the right journey as it wasn’t the typical tourist set up. Going on this trip proved to be an excellent decision. India is a magic country that you cannot leave being untouched. Besides from being part of many cultural events and seeing some very special places I also experienced a journey within myself. Going on a Lotus journey and being part of a small group made sure that I could have the opportunity to relax while at the same time fully immerse myself into the journey. Thanks heaps to all the people making this work, Tony, Suresh and all the fantastic guides, camp and cooking staff….
