20 November. Day 1
Depart Auckland 1.25pm. Arrive Singapore 6.55pm. Departs Singapore 8.10pm, Arrives Trivandrum 9.50pm. Overnight at Somatheeram Ayurvedic Resort

21 November. Day 2 – Somatheeram
Enjoy the sumptuous surroundings of this fabulous resort with private beach and untold massage and yoga facilities at your disposal. Overnight in resort.

22 November. Day 3. Somatheeram/Kanyakumari
After breakfast, drive to the southern most tip of India and see Vivekananda Rock and Kanyakumari/ Overnight at beach resort.

23 November. Day 4. Kovalam
Drive up to Kovalam (100kms/2 hours) beach resort after breakfast. Enjoy the lazy lifestyle of this beach where it is reputed that the hippie movement started in the 60’s! Overnight at Leela (or Turtle) Resort.

24 November. Day 5
Kovalam/Varkala. Onward to Papanasham Beach for overnight at Hindustan Beach Retreat.

25 NovemberDay 6 – Varkala
Relax at another beautiful beach resort where swimming and sunbathing and eating great food are the main order of the day. Overnight at Resort on beach.

26 November. Day 7 – Varkala/Allepy
After breakfast we drive to our beach resort via Amritapuri Ashram, the home of Amma the ‘hugging mother’ for a visit to her famous ashram where 2005 Tsunami struck and the village surrounds. Overnight at Laka Palace.

27 November. Day 8 – Houseboat excursion
First we have breakfast at the resort then check into our luxury house boat. Your floating home will reach your resort by noon and on arrival check-in your houseboat (your luxury home on sail for next 24 hours).

Houseboat trip is the perfect way to experience the backwater lifestyle of Kerala. The day long journey in the beautiful backwaters of Kerala is the only way to explore what otherwise seems more like a poet’s version.

As your trip would start, it would seem like any other boat trip but within just one-hour time, the boat will reach in the area, which is just breathtaking. It is far beyond imagination that how a whole life is running across both the corners of backwaters. Your houseboat trip makes you experience this very unique thing. While sitting on the deck of your houseboat or while sitting in the spacious open sit-out area, outside your bedroom, you can see the people starting their day.

Among the many interesting things which you can see in the day long journey, few which I am sure would catch your attention are:

• Children being taught the swimming lessons right at their doorstep.
• Children going to school in little boats.
• Vendors selling cold drinks and other grocery items in the boats.
• Families moving from one place to another in the houseboat.

By the evening, your boat will get anchored close to one of the villages, located by the backwaters. You can surely take a tour of this small village.

During the whole day, you will be served delicious meals prepared by your chef and his assistants. Over night at your luxury air-conditioned houseboat.

28 November. Day 9 – Kumakarom
After breakfast cruise on the back water canals of lake Vembanad (Asia’s biggest lake). Visit the famous bird sanctuary in this area, boating through the back waters and after beautiful sunset cruise back to Coconut Lagoon (or Zuri) Resort for overnight.

29 November. Day 10 – Kumakarom/Thekkady
Depart early morning for Thekkady, the wildlife sanctuary and check straight into Elephant Court Resort. In the afternoon we go game viewing from Periyar lake, located in the middle of a huge wildlife reserve, consisting of elephants, monkeys,deer, wild boar and many different species of birds. Overnight back at resort.

30 November. Day 11 – Thekkady
After breakfast more sightseeing, elephant rides and more relaxation or shopping in the local market, overnight at resort.

1 December. Day 12 – Thekkady/Munnar
Drive to Munnar Hill station (130kms/4hours) and check into Club Mahindra Resort. Sightseeing at Eravikulam National park, Muttupetty Dam and the Old Munnar town. Overnight at resort.

2 December. Day 13 – Munnar
A day of relaxation at resort or sightseeing, your choice. Overnight at resort.

3 December. Day 14 – Munnar/Cochin
After breakfast, drive to Cochin via Guruvayoor, where the huge Krishna statue stands where one of the most famous temples in India is located. Onto Cochin Hotel for overnight.

4 December. Day 15. Depart Cochin
Depart Cochin 11.45am. Arrives Singapore 6.50am 5th Dec. Depart Singapore 8.50am arrives Auckland 11.40pm 5th Dec.
